"If you say so."

Awww. Oh, if he doesn't like it... alright.

"I've packed ten potions. You?"

[silentnarration]

He's touching the ends of his hair a little though. Now he's going to have to look when they find a mirror again.

"Ten too. And five remedies." Between their magic though it really wouldn't be much of a necessity. He gives Balamb Garden another look. His home, really. Then looks at Rinoa and holds a hand out to her.

"Let's go. Stay close to me."

[angelowing]

She half thinks to tell him remedies will be unnecessary, her esunas do job quite nicely, but-- no matter, who knows what may happen? It's best to always be ready.

So, Rinoa simply nods.

"Why wouldn't I? We'll always be together now."

She'll make sure of that, if anything happens.

[silentnarration]

There could be more places like the castle where para-magic is blocked. Even if Rinoa's won't be blocked now that she's a true sorceress. He's trained to be prepared.

"We shouldn't let our guard down."

Anything could happen, still. But he does start walking, deciding if they should risk entering a city to rent a car.

[angelowing]

"You're right. I'll be careful."

Careful enough, at least. One shouldn't go overboard with that.

"Maybe we can see the whole world again.~"

[silentnarration]

Hey, he's just learning the limits of being overprotective. He may go overboard a little bit.

"Do you want to?" it wouldn't be hard to do.

[angelowing]

"I'd like to see some beautfiul places again. And maybe see new ones! I don't believe we've been everywhere, even when flying Ragnarok."

Seems to ponder something.

"Although, putting it like this, Selphie might be envious if we see something amazing that she hasn't, yet."~

Rinoa grins, leaning closer.

"Hey, have you said 'see you' to Zell, Quistis, and everyone? I hope you're not sneaking out quietly, this time."

He's pretty sure they've traveled a good chunk of the world by now. But if she wants to explore, he's hardly going to say no. He looks taken aback by her follow up though and grimaces.

"They found me first." It's not like their leaving is secret. And his friends definitely knows him better than that by now, even if he had intended to drop in on them before leaving.

"That's good!"

And then she giggles upon seeing his face expression.

"We have good friends, that's not something to complain about. Really~~. Without you and them, I'd be somewhere in the orbit now."

[silentnarration]

"I'm not complaining," he mutters sullenly. And he knows he owes them a lot for sticking by him despite everything. At the reminder of nearly losing her (several times now honestly), he just reaches to take her by the hand as they walk. She won't be going anywhere without him now, if he can help it anyway.

"Whenever said my words, wishing they would be heard ~~" hi!

It's not as if Rinoa wants to go anywhere without Squall, either. Maybe someday, when the world and herself is no longer so scary. Well, maybe even now it scares her less, but still--

Still, she would never be alone rather than with the one she loves the most. Not ever.

"I know! You haven't yet said - .... - after all, today, not even once. That means you must be happy."

[silentnarration]

Squall presses his lips together sullenly, sulkily protesting her declaration by purposefully being silent for a bit. He looks ahead and rests one hand on his hip.

"What if I am?"

[angelowing]

Rinoa smiles, almost giddy that she's finally gotten her beloved to admit it.

"That's winderful! All the more reason to go, just the two of us. For now."

[silentnarration]

He sighs as they trek onwards on the almost overgrown path leading to the nearest city. He keeps hold of her hand while he walks, mindful of any monsters that might cross their path.

Forever is fine, even. To just be her knight while they see the world. "For now?" Did she want the others to join them in the future?

And why not?

"I think it could be great if someday we could all travel together again."

After all, she really cherished those days.

"That's only in the future. For now, we have things to do, things to see, by ourselves only!"

And their Guardian Forces with them, too, likely, but that is still private.

"It's the same scenery," he points out with a fond smile. Balamb can be seen up ahead now. And then the train ride to Timber will be next. After that, they'll have to find a boat to get to Centra.

[angelowing]

"Maybe so. But I love that scenery. It's our place, too, after all."

And there's still a lot they can do, while she's getting the hang of controlling all her powers as a Sorceress safely.

It doesn't have to be all a chore, after all, Rinoa's certain of it. Definitely not, now that they're finally together! There's so much she wants to tell Squall, still. Though, he might get embarassed but it all, at first.

But. It's nice, seeing him get embarassed. It's definitely all worth it! At least, that's how she feels right now. And she wishes to feel like this for a long time. Forever, maybe.

Oh, now that's slightly embarassing even for her. She smiles softly, looking up at the sky.

[silentnarration]

"You're thinking too far ahead," he says after watching her for a while. It's teasing really but this sort of normalcy is nice. Something he hasn't really experienced in a very long time. "Timber is still controlled by Galabadia. We can't let our guard down there."

[angelowing]

"It's alright, Squall, I'll be careful."

[silentnarration]

He feels like adding more cautionary words but stops when he wonders if he'd be pushing it too far. That and he'd be the one overthinking their future.

Besides, this is only the first leg of their journey. Surely nothing can go wrong right off the bat.

At least that's what he thinks until they enter Balamb and three Galbadian soldiers appear to be ganging up on an old woman and a young child hiding behind her.

Rinoa immediately looks ready to do something about this scene, but she'll glance at Squall to make sure he's with her on this.

[silentnarration]

He grips his gunblade. The desire to do something is there but he doesn't want to ruin their cover so early into the trip. The decision is made for him when in the middle of their heated 'discussion', one of the soldiers push the woman hard enough to knock her onto the ground.

He moves, stepping between the the soldiers and the old woman, his gunblade pointed downwards for now but very much a visible threat.

good Squall, did the thing faster than Rinoa who's gearing up to it :D

Rinoa runs there, and stands right beside Squall, getting her weapon ready, though not quite yet, Squall, you're fast!

However, Angelo's at her heels, so, there is that.

"Stop it!" she shouts, to the soldiers.

pfft

[silentnarration]

That's because he knows she'd move after that and he just prefers to put himself as the more prominent threat first. He'll... probably let Rinoa do all the talking though. He's the muscle here. For now. Just don't antagonize the soldiers too much, Rinoa.

"Stay out of it, girl! We're here on official Galbadian business." Typical soldier bravado, along with the threatening pointing of weapons.

"No, I won't! What did the poor woman ever do to you?!"

And she'll now be readying a spell.

Meanwhile, the Soldiers are seemingly wondering whether to attack the mouthy girl already.

[silentnarration]

"Just arrest them already!" One of the soldiers finally cried. Squall just sighs and rolls his eyes as all three step forward. Two with guns and one with a sword. He leaves the gunners to Rinoa and steps forward to make quick work of the sword user.

[angelowing]

Rinoa quickly hits one of the soldiers armed with guns with a Confusion. That's what he gets for being so rude!

Now she has to decide what to do next - especially as another soldier shoots at her, and she barely manages to avoid it. Fortunately, she dodges - barely - just in time.
